David Yeshia
David Yeshia is a Canadian glass artist and the founder of Artglas Studios, based in Markham, Ontario. His work bridges traditional kiln-formed glass techniques with a distinctly modern, innovative and emotional language. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and textures of Canada, he transforms crushed and broken glass into sculptural forms that celebrate imperfection, light, and renewal. Entirely self-taught, David developed his signature Glass Netting and Shatter techniques through experimentation and intuition, giving his work a tactile depth and sense of motion that feels both fragile and enduring.
Nominated for the 2024 Emerging Glass Artist Of The Year Award, David’s work has been exhibited internationally, including multiple invitations to Venice Glass Week’s Transparent Breath exhibitions. His pieces are collected across the globe and have been commissioned by organizations such as Disney World and the Government of Canada, Canadian Clay and Glass, to name a few. Each creation—whether an ornament, vessel, or sculpture—embodies his core philosophy of finding beauty in the broken, transforming discarded fragments into luminous works of art.
